Prosoon - 1/3

Credentials, Job Seeking

Competitive Analysis, Benchmarking, User Research

February 2026

This academic +140-page group project received high marks (18/20 and 20/20).

Overview

Prosoon‘s company provides digital verifiable credentials and badges to showcase and attest the success of the users academic studies and professional training. It also offers a job board as a main feature.

Prosoon facilitates connections between three key audiences:

  • Institutions: Uploading authentic digital badges and degrees.

  • Employers: Publishing job offers.

  • Students & Job Seekers: Showcasing their skills, ensuring they are verifiable and support their job search.

Our goal was both to understand the needs of students and Job seekers and to evaluate the usability of the interface.

For this academic project within a team of five, I was one of the two main contributors.

My missions were as follows: running a competitor analysis and an expert review, writing and running the usability test, moderating an interview, recruiting participants, analyzing and creating the visuals for the data and contributing to writing the report.

Goals

Our mission as a team was to provide recommendations to the company so it could improve the section dedicated to students and job seekers on its platform, which is still under development.

One part of my work consisted of conducting a competitive analysis. This allowed me to gain a clearer overview of the market landscape, which helped us propose recommendations aligned with what competitors currently offer.

Approach

I first focused on a competitor:

  • Credly, the market leader in the digitalization of credentials that can be used in the banking, finance, healthcare, insurance and retail fields.

I then compared  three job boards to map their strengths and weaknesses:

  • The services offered on Grimp (this platform is recommended by France Travail and is therefore recognized by the French government), LinkedIn, and Indeed.

I developed a comprehensive spreadsheet comparing their key features and gaps to have an overview of the job search market and gain some insights about what could be developed on Prosoon’s platform.

Key Findings

I  closely analyzed the Credly website, which offers a wide range of credentials that can be digitalized.

I created a table summarizing 14 different features offered by the three job boards:

Outcomes

The main features that Prosoon should consider implementing to align with competitors include:

  • keyword analysis
  • articles about trends and career advice
  • search filters
  • real-time tracking
  • weekly reports
  • networking opportunities

Of course, it can be difficult to compete with major platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed. However, the combination proposed by Prosoon — digital credentials combined with job offers — could allow the platform to stand out in the market.

If it manages to attract a significant number of job seekers, students, companies, and educational institutions, it could eventually become an important player in this field.

What I would do differently

With more time, I would probably have analyzed two additional competitors in order to gain a broader overview of the job board landscape. I would also have conducted a more extensive analysis of competitors in the digital credentials sector.

However, the data collected already allowed us to provide the client with relevant suggestions and identify the aspects they should emphasize in their communication in order to stand out in the market.
